Mohammad Akmal Yahaya

Akmal is MEASAT’s Vice President of Information Technology & Digital Transformation (ITDT). He oversees the operations and management of the company-wide IT and cybersecurity requirements.

With close to 30 years of experience, Akmal joined MEASAT in 1995 as one of the pioneering engineers in Satellite Ground Engineering at the MEASAT Satellite Control Centre (MSCC) in Gunung Raya, Langkawi.

Throughout his tenure, he led Satellite Payload Operations, progressed to the Network Management Center (NMC), and subsequently assumed a pivotal role in the Digital Transformation Department.

Akmal has been a core team member since MEASAT’s initiation of community broadband services with the MCMC’s WiFi Komuniti project in 2015.

Akmal holds a BEng Electrical Engineering from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
