Dr. Edmund Kong is MEASAT’s Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he oversees the company’s Satellite Engineering & Operations, Spectrum Management, Satellite Launch Procurement, and Information Technology & Digital Transformation departments. He also oversaw the construction, launch and commission of MEASAT’s latest flagship satellite, MEASAT-3d, in 2022.

Dr. Kong has more than 30 years of experience in the satellite industry. Prior to joining MEASAT, he was the GEOStar-3 Product Line Chief Engineer at Orbital ATK. He was also the Chief Engineer responsible for the design, build, test and commission of the MEASAT-3a spacecraft.

He holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and spent four years at MIT Space Systems Laboratory as Research Scientist
