Since 1996, MEASAT has been providing premium satellite solutions to customers across the Asia-Pacific region, and now has a reach that covers over 150 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Australia, representing 80% of the world’s population.
The MEASAT fleet includes the state of art MEASAT-3 and MEASAT-3a satellites at 91.5°E which support Asia’s premium DTH (direct-to-home) and video distribution neighbourhood, MEASAT-2 at 148.0°E and MEASAT-5 at 119.5°E. The satellite fleet will be further strengthened with the addition of MEASAT-3b at 91.5°E in Q1 2014.
The MEASAT fleet supports leading DTH platforms in Malaysia, Brunei, India and Indonesia, providing DTH multi-channel television services to over 18 million subscribers. The fleet is also used by many leading international channel operators to distribute television programming to pay television platforms, and by telecommunications operators to support remote connectivity, GSM back hauling, IP trunking and corporate VSAT networks.
In Africa, the AFRICASAT-1a satellite at 46.0°E provides satellite capacity across the African continent, with connectivity to Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. The satellite is able to provide a complete range of satellite solutions including VSAT services, disaster recovery, co-location, uplinking, broadband, IP termination services and HD/SD video playout solutions.
Leveraging infrastructure at the MEASAT Teleport and Broadcast Centre, and working with a select group of world class partners which include Antrix, Astro, Encompass Digital Media, GlobeCast, RRsat Global Communications and CET Teleport, MEASAT also provides a complete range of broadcast and telecommunications solutions. The state-of-the-art teleport facility located just outside of Kuala Lumpur provides 24/7 monitoring and customer support for services including 3D, high definition and standard definition video playout, video turnaround, occasional video contribution, co-location, uplinking, fibre connectivity, broadband and IP termination services. |
